The diseases that we get from our parents or ancestors from generation to generation are called hereditary diseases
Some common hereditary diseases ➢ Colour blindness, or colour vision deficiency, is the inability or decreased ability to see colour, or perceive colour differences, under normal lighting conditions. There is no actual blindness but there is a deficiency of colour vision. ➢ Hemophilia is a group of inherited blood disorders in which the blood does not clot normally. Person suffering from hemophilia, may bleed for a longer time than others after an injury. He also may bleed inside the body (internally), especially in knees, ankles, and elbows. This bleeding can damage organs and tissues and may be life threatening. ➢ Thalassemia is a group of inherited blood disorders that affect the body's ability to produce hemoglobin and red blood cells - patients have a lower-than-normal number of red blood cells in their bodies and too little hemoglobin. In many cases the red blood cells are too small. As a result person might suffer from mild to severe anaemia. |
